Birch Bay, Washington

After a busy Hoopfest weekend, we loaded up the car on Monday morning and drove to Birch Bay, Washington...a cute little beach town that sits about 20 minutes north of Bellingham and not too far south of the Canadian border. It was a fun and relaxing week for our family, and we got to spend quite a bit of time with Hans which was fun too!

The tide goes out every morning and leaves these wonderful tide pools full of sea creatures. We had so much fun exploring, finding all different types of crabs, clams, sand dollars and even a big purple starfish. We also went to the Birch Bay water slides and hiking around Western Washington University. The last picture is where Hans works, and yes, that is a mural of him!
