2nd Annual Half-Fest

The Heimbigner family along with lots of friends celebrated the half-way point between Deutchestfest (September in Odessa) with our 2nd Annual Half-fest. This year it was held at the 5 mile Grange and we had a great time! I will only share a few photos...

This is why I check on the kids before bed...

Distinguished Educator Team!

Last Thursday, my team of 1st grade teachers (including me) received a very special honor. In a total moment of surprise, we were awarded the Spokane Public Schools Distinguished Educator Team for the 2009-2010 school year Only 1 team was chosen this year! All of our families were there, along with the superintendent of schools and the school board vice-president. It was a wonderful morning and a very big honor. It was a nice validation for all of the work we have put in towards this group of students.

Beds and Braids

The kids both made steps up in their beds last week. Andrew is now feeling quite big in his new "6 year old" full-size bed and Abigail is doing awesome in her new "big-girl" bed (which used to be Andrew's bed). It was also an exciting moment when I french-braided Abigail's hair for the first time. Thanks Courtney and Shelley for teaching me well when I was a little girl!

Andrew Turns Six and Easter Weekend

Our little boy is 6 years old...wow! It has been a blessing watching Andrew grow into the boy he is today. He is full of life, he is loving and thoughtful, he is independent and adventurous, he is clever and smart. For as many times as he challenges us, he gives us abundant times of laughter and pure joy! We love you Andrew and are so proud of you!

We had a great Easter weekend celebrating Andrew's birthday, finding Easter eggs, going to church and eating way too many sweet treats!

Our two favorite Abby girls...

Spring Break

We had a busy, but fun and fantastic spring break. We took a little road trip to Vancouver, Washington to spend 2 nights with our good friends the Dukes, and then we headed down to Olivia and David's house in Gresham, Oregon for 3 more nights. Andrew and Abigail had tons of fun with friends and family and so did Matt and I! It's always nice to get out of town, even for a short time.

Stallcops have this wonderful little forest area close to their house. Andrew and Abigail said they were going on an adventure. Uncle Nick and Sean joined us too! There's a reason everything is so lush and green in Oregon...it rains alot!

Here's a few more shots from our time in Gresham...

We crammed lots of activities into our day with the Dukes family. After watching Logann's soccer game, we headed to a great park with lots of grass, a walking trail and fun toys. Andrew's hands were yellow from picking dandelions and Brent came up with a perfect description for Abby when she's singing and talking to herself. We now call it "Abbyland." We finally got to meet Raegan and she is adorable. Abigail was so precious with her and very careful as she patted, sang and danced.
