Go Eagles and Skate Night

Congratulations to the Eastern Washington University Eagles, FCS National Champions!
Matt and I, along with my mom and some friends gathered at Swinging Doors to watch the game (my dad and brother were down in Frisco, TX cheering on the Eags). We had a great time!

Andrew's school periodically has school skate nights and last night I took both of the kids. Neither Andrew or Abigail have roller skated before and it's probably been 15-20 years since I've been on skates, so I was a little nervous. 10 seconds after hitting the floor, a boy came barreling into the three of us and took us down. I thought, "Great, what a way to start!" After several times around and having both kids hang on my arms, they started to get the hang of it. By the end of the night, Abigail was off skating on her own and groovin' to the music (and making friends with whoever would skate with her) and Andrew slowly made his way around the rink by himself a few times. I think his coordination is still trying to catch up with the major growth spurt he has gone through in the last few months. He is all legs! We did have to end the night a few minutes early when Andrew got flattened by another boy. And despite a bruised chin, bloody tooth and a couple of scratches on his face, he asked if we could go to the next skate night. What a trooper!

December...

EWU Semi-final game on the Red Turf - It was cold, but with the help of warm drinks and hand warmers inside our gloves, we stayed toasty. Go Eagles!
