The Big Hill

With the help of grandpa snow blowing all of the snow into a big pile, we've made a sledding hill at the top of grandma and grandpa's court. It's quite the hill and has been lots of fun for the cousins and neighborhood kids!

Merry Christmas

Some of my favorite moments and quotes from Christmas 2008: 1. At church on Christmas Eve, the candles were lit and the lights were turned down. Andrew's eyes sparkled as he watched his candle and begun to sing Silent Night. 2. After getting home from church Andrew was lying on his new quilt made by grandma Heimbigner. With great thought he said, "This is just what I wanted for Christmas." 3. On Christmas morning, Santa brought Andrew a new race track. He yelled, "I'm so excited I can't even think!" Now that's excitement! 4. Abigail was queen of the pictures. Everywhere we went and with every camera pointed at her, she gave a big "CHEEEEESE." It was hilarious! I think she likes showing off some of her new teeth. Christmas Eve was spent with the Heimbigner family and Christmas Day was spent with the Liezens. We are so blessed to be able to spend our holidays with our entire family! We love you! Opening Christmas presents was especially exciting this year. It was so much fun! Grandma Heimbigner made all of the grand kids quilts. What a special gift. Abigail loves her new princess car and has not stopped playing with it since and Andrew loved everything he opened. More snow time...

"It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...."

Snow, snow and more snow! It's very beautiful, but the piles are getting quite big for shoveling. 8-10 more inches are expected tomorrow!

Hats, Hats, Hats!

This blog is all about Abby's love of HATS! Her favorite word is "hat" and she is always finding hats around the house and putting them on. In one picture, she has one hat on her head, another in her purse, and she's managing to carry a book as well. Abigail is really interested in books now! I also was able to capture a shot of the newest bonk on her face under her eye. She cried for a second and then was off and running again.

Andrew and Abigail were so excited with the foot of snow that fell today. I always feel like more time is spent getting all of the winter gear on rather than actual play time, but the kids love it! We've had cold temperatures and it looks like it will continue that way, so we'll be having a white Christmas in Spokane!

Make sure and turn the music off so that you can hear Abigail in the video!

Where did November go?

Happy Holidays to our dear friends and family! I had such good intentions of updating the blog before Thanksgiving and now here we are 1 day away from December. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Our family has so much to be thankful for!

Here's some pictures from the month of November. The kids are growing and changing all of the time!

Andrew and Abigail are quite the pair. Here they are eating apples after coming in from outside. Andrew of course had to strip down out in the garage because he rarely stays dry or clean when playing out in the back yard. It's so fun watching Abigail explore now that she can get anywhere she likes.

Abigail loves her hats - in fact, one of her favorite words is "hat". In the first picture, she was using Andrew's Spiderman underwear (clean ones from the laundry basket) as her hat. She was also saying "cheese" for the camera. In the second, she was playing dress up after bath time. She loves her pink puffy coat and she had one hat on her head and one in her hand!

I have to admit, I was not too thrilled when it started to snow on Friday. It felt like it hasn't been that long since we got rid of the white stuff (it was June). My feelings changed though when we took Andrew and Abigail outside to shovel and play. Abigail didn't know what direction to go...she even started doing her little "happy dance". Andrew was making snow angels and eating up whatever snow he could find. Their excitement was contagious!

Halloween Fun and Cute Abigail Moments

We had a happy Halloween on Friday night. All of the cousins met at Jeremy and Jen's for pizza and grandma's sugar cookies and then headed out for trick-or-treating. They were quite the crew with a fireman, ladybug, dragon, lion, nerd and hippie. Abigail thought she was pretty hot stuff standing at people's doors and getting candy. She wasn't going to let go off the Hershey bar for anything! Andrew also had his harvest festival at school. They had to be farm animals so Andrew borrowed Hannah's chicken costume. He had a great time playing all of the games and having some special time with his mom (without sister)!

Besides some painful moments with teeth this week and having a rotten cold, Abigail has provided some pretty cute moments. She loves to climb and sit in anything she can find. And now, whenever she gets a snack or finds a book, she goes and sits on our little bench in the kitchen. It's adorable!

Pumpkin Patch and Fall Leaves

It is beautiful around Spokane and fall is one of my favorite times. The kids love playing in the leaves and being outside. We just have to dress a little bit warmer. We also had a wonderful time at Green bluff last weekend with the Carney family. We had to backtrack several times in the corn maze (notice I said backtrack instead of saying we got lost) and we picked some great pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. Abigail's favorite part was riding in the wagon and Andrew gave his typical answer, "Everything was my favorite!"

Six Crazy Cousins

It always sounds like such a great idea...lets get a picture of all of the cousins together! It's quite the adventure. Today we tried the Heimbiger/Liezen photo shoot at Finch Arboretum. Between 4 cameras and over 100 pictures taken, we managed to get a handful with all 6 kids looking and giving some form of smile. The cousins definitely had a funner time running around the park and playing in the leaves afterwards.

Pumpkin Patch Time

We had a great time at Walter's Fruit Ranch on Wednesday with Andrew's preschool class. It was cold, but beautiful and Andrew picked a nice pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. He also picked a golden delicious apple off the tree, drank fresh apple cider and sampled apple honey.
