Late Easter Wishes
The month of April was a little bit of a blur. After a great Spring Break, I came down with pneumonia and was down for nearly 3 weeks. Yucky stuff! So now May has arrived and I'm finally feeling better. We had a good Easter. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. He is Risen!

10 years!
Matt and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary on Thursday (April 7th) and it was a beautiful day. It was actually 11 years ago today (April 9th) that Matt took me to Palouse Falls and proposed. We had not been back since that day so we thought it would be a special place to share our day together. The river and falls were roaring and a spectacular sight!
Then....

Now....

In order to get to the spot where Matt proposed, we have to walk into the bowl area (top right) and along the upper ridge. Then we climb down to the lower ridge and the little hole in the wall (lower left hand side). I do know that after 11 years, I was a little more timid in my hiking/climbing adventure, but we were safe and it was an incredible day. Matt and I feel so blessed to be celebrating our life together!

Spring Break in Seattle
Andrew turned 7 on Sunday, April 3rd! How is that possible? We decided we would celebrate and get out of town for a couple of days. Though Seattle was rainy, we still managed to walk everywhere and have a great time. It is a fun place to visit and gives you a true lesson in humanity and culture.
Sunday...Andrew's Birthday! A morning of travel, a stop at the Lego store, lunch and birthday sundae at Red Robin, Space Needle and first ride on monorail for the kids. Uncle Hans even traveled down from Bellingham to spend the afternoon with us.

Monday....Started the day off at Top Pot Doughnuts with Chad, Suzie, Jacob and Nick, walked down to Pike Street and then to the Seattle Aquarium where we met Baltzells and Humphreys, walked back to the Camlin in the rain and had dinner up in Everett at the Humphreys. Thank you everyone for a fun day!

Tuesday...Museum of Flight. What a spectacular place, probably our favorite Seattle attraction that we visited!

Basketball and Swimming
Andrew has been playing y-ball and it has been quite the experience (for Andrew and mom and dad) :) Today he played awesome and his team won their first game. Way to go Vikings!

Andrew and Abigail are also taking swim lessons at the Y on Friday afternoons and they love it! Andrew's class works quite a bit on the different strokes and Abigail's class has been working on being comfortable under water (which Abby has no fear), floating and some beginning strokes. It's pretty fun and it has been a nice break from the winter weather.

Tooth #2
Andrew lost tooth #2 and his big tooth is already on its way through, just like the first one. By the looks of things in his mouth, Matt and I should start saving for braces.
5 minutes later...Andrew walked into his room and after getting a little distracted, set his tooth down. Now if you haven't seen Andrew's room before, he likes to collect things and he likes to build things, so his desk area is usually a disaster zone. Needless to say, the tooth went instantly missing. He decided to write a letter to the tooth fairy. (I like the "blood" on the bottom of the tooth fairy picture. Nice touch!)
Abigail wanted to be included too!
And yes, we have more snow. Last Wednesday and Thursday brought about a foot of new snow and with the cold temperatures, we even had a snow day. I wasn't too thrilled, but it was beautiful. Andrew was excited to play and it's a good thing he had some outside time because the last 3 days he has been stuck inside with the flu. Yuck!

Curls and basketball
Abigail got her haircut a couple of weeks ago and now that it is quite a bit shorter, she loves to have it curled. However, the curls make her feel even more sassy than she can tend to be. After these quick snapshots she said, "Daddy is going to be so surprised how pretty I look!" Really? I love the hands on the hip poses too.

More basketball pictures to come....but here's Andrew after his first Y-ball game at Glover. Brings back memories, since that's where I played Y-ball when I was his age.

Andrew loses his first tooth!
I am sooooo behind on pictures, so here is a glimpse back at some of January. After the Eastern Eagles won the FCS National Championship Game in Texas, there was a rally and parade downtown. The kids had fun cheering, "Go Eagles!" and even got to join in the parade. We're really excited for games next year!

Other big news! Andrew finally lost his first tooth. One night we were looking in his mouth and noticed that his first grown-up tooth was already coming in and that his front tooth was loose. He worked that tooth for two days and even let mom give it some good pulls. Finally on MLK day, I gave one final tug and out it popped. I teach 1st grade, so I know how exciting a tooth can be, but watching Andrew was so much fun. It is such a big deal to lose that first tooth!

Abigail loves to play dolls, so when our friend Kalea gave Abigail a new doll house, she was thrilled.
