October News - Happy Fall

It's Fall and we love being outdoors. When we pick Andrew up from preschool, we have to play on the toys at church. And I have to mention that the little blue, flowered overalls that Abigail is wearing used to belong to me. 31 years later and they're still cute! Plus, Abigail thought she was pretty hot stuff swinging on the big swings.

Our family had a couple of house guests this weekend - Emma and Bella, the guinea pigs from Andrew's class came home with us on Friday and will return back to school tomorrow. Andrew was a wonderful care giver, always checking to make sure they were okay and well fed. Bella, the white one in the picture, is very gentle and spent lots of time out of the cage in Andrew's arms.

Just hanging out in the coffee table drawer...

We had a great morning at the Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes. There were over 100 people on Team Nick Heimbigner. Thank you to all of the family and friends there to help support Nick! It was awesome!

Swimming, running, playing...

I think we've seen the last of our warm summer weather and fall is officially here! Andrew spent most of the afternoons last week playing outside and enjoying the sun. His new favorite spot is on the fence as he calls out to our neighbor Emily. They are in the same preschool class and love to play together. What's this relationship going to be like in 10 years?

We survived another Deutchestfest weekend. Jeremy, my cousin Rhett and I drove down early Saturday morning and participated in the 5K fun run. Believe it or not, I came in 1st place for the women, Rhett came in 3rd place for the men and Jeremy came in 4th. We had a good time and it was a great way to start the day. Lots of good German food and fun!

Andrew had his final swim of the season. The water was a little cool for the rest of us, but he had a great time! I had to trap Abigail in the corner by the pool toys - she would have jumped right in if given the opportunity. Thank you grandma and grandpa for all of the pool time this summer.

It was fun seeing some of my friends that I played volleyball with at Eastern. There was a big September birthday bash at the Wideman's house.

And last but not least, our little princess was looking adorable with the tiara and wand at grandma and grandpa Liezen's house. Thank you grandma Joy for watching the kids while we were in Odessa.

September News

Andrew started school this past week. He's attending preschool at Prince of Peace again this year. He's going 3 days a week and loves it already!

Andrew's preschool took their first field trip to the Spokane Interstate Fair. Grandma, Abigail, Andrew and I had a wonderful time! His class is called The Honeybees, so it was appropriate that they had their picture taken in front of a beehive. Andrew enjoyed the honey sticks too!

Abigail is walking (well, taking several steps) when she wants to...mostly when she's not thinking about it. I tried to catch a couple of quick videos. The second one stops when she puts a feather in my cup.

She's just like her brother - loves to be outside, climbing on everything and playing in the dirt.

Abigail Turns One!

Abigail has had a fun time celebrating her birthday (August 30th) with lots of family and friends. Thank you everyone!

It's hard to believe our little girl is one year old. She brings so much joy to our lives. She's healthy, growing and into everything. She's taking 4 to 5 steps at a time, so I'm sure she'll take off running anyday now. Abigail has so much personality and makes us smile and laugh all of the time.

We also celebrated Grandma Joy's birthday on August 24th. Andrew and LeAnna thought it was fun feeding Sean grass and Abigail and Sean liked the toy jeep. Abigail loves her cousin Sean and was giving hugs and kisses. It was great having all of the Liezen family together. We missed Uncle David though!

Other summer news...The sandbox was a hit and Andrew took his training wheels off in July. He claims he doesn't "love his bike" anymore because his legs get so tired riding. He's doing great!

Is it August already?

I cannot remember a summer that has gone by as fast as this one! We had a great time up at Lake Pend O'reille with my family. Abigail and Andrew thought the sand pile was one of the best parts of the week. Abigail also got to go on her first boat ride. Andrew and Matt played Frog-o-rama at the condo, but didn't quite get as many frogs as my mom and I! We've also had some fun mornings spent playing on the toys. And of course...we had to get some pictures in the wheat field out at Kayla's house. Andrew loves being on the farm! This morning I decided it was time to start putting Abigail in the bike trailer for bike rides and Andrew decided that it looked like a nice way to ride too. So, with both kids loaded in, I figure I was carrying an extra 65 pounds. That definitely was a good workout!
